Dark chocolate, walnuts, and coconut oil each have nutrients and properties that can contribute to reducing stress and promoting relaxation
Dark Chocolate:
• Magnesium: Dark chocolate is a great source of magnesium, a mineral known for its ability to reduce stress, relax muscles, and promote a sense of calm.
• Flavonoids: These antioxidants can improve blood flow to the brain, boost mood, and reduce inflammation, which help manage stress.
• Theobromine: A mild stimulant that can enhance mood without the jitteriness associated with caffeine 🫨
• Phenylethylamine (PEA): Often called the “love chemical,” PEA can elevate mood and has a mild antidepressant effect 💜
Walnuts:
• Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Walnuts are rich in omega-3s, which help lower stress and anxiety by reducing inflammation and supporting brain health.
• Antioxidants: Walnuts contain polyphenols and other antioxidants that help fight oxidative stress, which can be a contributor to anxiety and mood disorders.
• Melatonin: Walnuts naturally contain melatonin, a hormone that can help regulate sleep, contributing to stress reduction.
Coconut Oil:

Ingredients: I use organic, but it’s your choice.
• 1/2 cup organic dark chocolate chips (70% or more cacao)
• 1/2 cup organic chopped walnuts
• 1 tsp organic coconut oil
Instructions:
Melt chocolate with coconut oil, stir in walnuts, and spoon into mini molds or on parchment paper to set. Double the recipe, if you dare 😋
