Kathleen - this is such an important post! You name what so many of us don't always have the language for: that stress isn’t just about our external pressures but also it resides in our inner narratives and survival patterns we carry, often unconsciously.
I especially appreciate how you frame the body’s stress response with such compassion and relate it to something wise that needs help reorienting to. In a world that often encourages us to override and "push through," your work reminds us how important self-awareness is.
Thank you for offering real understanding and real tools. I’m so grateful for voices like yours that honor the complexity of healing while also making it human, accessible and hopeful as well.
Jennifer, it really is our perception. For example, I've seen people that are taking their walks and a dog runs up and they just have all this fear and of course the animal can sense it and for me if a dog runs up, and I'm naturally connected to animals in some special way, but once I let them sniff my hand I'm down and we're all over each other 😉 so it's not only my perception, but the animals perception and it's the same with people. Thanks for stopping by and reading. I really appreciate it 🥰
Such an important message you share here, Kathleen!
"It’s about how you perceive what’s happening."
So all the green juice, dog walks, and spa days won't help if your nervous system is still cranked up and your mind telling you you're not safe.
Looking forward to hearing all your tips from a lifetime helping people breathe into calm.
Jeanette basically what you're saying is true however, the green juice, dog walks, and spa days will "help some"
... but it all starts with the mindset
definitely have a lot to share and glad it's something that you're interested in- maybe not even for yourself maybe for someone else 🤗

thank you, Dr. Rice 🙏
I especially resonated with “how you perceive the stress”…it was an aha moment for me. Thank you!🙏
